Ruby was left abandoned at AALOC, stuffed into a small cage set out front for feeding feral cats. This sweet, female pit bull/cattle dog mix certainly did not deserve this treatment. She is one of the friendliest, most gentle big dogs ever to come to AALOC.
Ruby is a medium-sized dog, about 55 pounds. She’s has a beautiful all white coat with black spots, black and white polka dot ears, chocolate brown eyes and a black button nose. She likes attention, loves to walk and to play in the yard and would make a great cuddle buddy. One requirement is a completely enclosed yard with a six foot or taller fence since Ruby can be a bit of an escape artist.
Ruby is in a foster home for the cold winter months. The foster parents have sent the following report: “Ruby is gentle and loving and completely housebroken. Ruby is very intelligent and learns from watching the other six small dogs in or pack. She also picks up on routines by herself and cooperates without instructions. For example when we take out the leashes for our smaller dogs Ruby knows she needs to go back to her room and trots there on her own. She already knows the “sit” command and to give her paw and we are focused on teaching her not to pull when she is on a walk. Ruby is really just one big love bug!" Be sure to watch her videos to the right as she meets her new foster family and learns ropes!
Please submit an application to adopt Ruby. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Ruby during visiting hours (10am to 3pm daily) and get to know her a bit.
