Sara had just moved to Orange County from out-of-state and was looking for a puppy to love when she came across a Facebook post for husky puppies and chose an adorable black and white male with blue eyes. She met the “breeder” in a strip mall parking lot in San Diego and payed $500 in cash. Within 48 hours, this puppy was lethargic, pale, vomiting and had diarrhea.
Sara had already spent hundreds of dollars at a local vet and with her earnings as a daycare worker and with student loan debts, she had no ability to pay thousands of dollars to have her critically ill puppy hospitalized. So she surrendered her new puppy she had named Blu to AALOC so he could receive the care he needed.
This very, very sad story actually has a wonderful ending: AALOC allowed Sara to adopt Blu back once he was healed.
Sara gave Blu up so he could live. We gave Blu back so he can be loved.
Because of the financial support AALOC receives
from our contributors, and the excellent care provided by the veterinarians at
VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists Blu lived and will have a forever home
with Sara, the best dog mom ever. Sara and Blu we wish you many Happy Tails
