ARCHIE
Adopted September 10, 2024
A tiny four-week-old kitten who should have been nursing on his mom and romping with his siblings in a home filled with love, was discovered alone and cold in a dark shed in a backyard with his front leg severely injured. He was brought to AALOC by the finder who held the one-pound kitten with a leg dangling and the familiar plea, “will you please help us?” How could ANYONE say no? Archie, as he was named, was taken to a veterinary orthopedic surgeon who confirmed the leg was too damaged to be saved and it was amputated. And that's when Archie's forever story began: a foster family agreed to care for Archie until he was adopted. Of course this little monkey, with his unstoppable spirit and adorable personality, won their hearts immediately, Thank you Jill and Rick for allowing Archie a permanent place in your hearts and your home!
PEPPER
Adopted August 17, 2024
There is definitely something magical about this all-black cat named Pepper. Pepper was about 10 weeks old when she decided she needed a home so she checked herself into AALOC. Somehow, someway Pepper was able to sneak into one of the cat rooms without anyone knowing. When Pepper was discovered she was pretty feral and would hiss at anyone who approached her. But she succombed to all the attention she received from the staff and now she loves to play and be held by humans in her new forever home with David and Lisa. Thank you David and Lisa for adopting this very special and magical kitty!
LOLA
Adopted May 3, 2024
At 8:30pm an older woman threw this small eight-pound Chihuahua mix over AALOC’s tall side gate and left her. The poor little girl frantically looked for her owner and tried to get back to her. Thankfully, a couple of workers happened to be training in the evening and found her, otherwise she would’ve been out all night herself. She was very frightened, not aggressive, just very scared. They got her into a crate in the carport for the night. The employees said she cried all night. Well, Lola is not crying anymore and never will be again. Pam and Bob have adopted this sweet pooch and it's been love at first sight for humans and canine. We are so grateful Lola has a new forever home with a pair of loving pet parents. Thank you Pam and Bob!
