JET AND COPPER
Adopted November 17, 2023
An AALOC team member came in for an early morning shift and found three kittens in a carrier on the front porch. The kittens were abnormally quiet and the staff member had no idea how long ago they had been abandoned. Concerned for thier well-being, the kittens were all taken to our vet who estimated they were six months old and healthy. Because our shelter was already full, these kittens – named Copper, Jet and Missy – were boarded at our vet. Two of the cats – Jet and Copper – have now found their forever home and will soon have an entire house to run and play in. We are so grateful for the individual who has adopted these two precious felines and given them a new home and a new life.
ANDY
Adopted October 11, 2023
Andy, a handsome mackerel tabby, was rushed to AALOC after being hit by not only one, but two cars. Luckily he survived but was badly injured. Andy had emergency surgery to repair two broken hips and has now found his forever home with Linda. Thank you Linda for taking Andy into your heart and giving him the home he has so desperately needed!
LARRY
Adopted September 21, 2023
Larry, Harry, Perry, Jerry, Gary and Karrie all arrived at AALOC as sick kittens with giardia and respiratory infections. They were treated and survived and were ready for a new home. We are happy to announce that Larry has found his special new humans. He was a bit anxious without all his siblings when he first arrived but by the afternoon he was sitting on his new owner's lap purring. Welcome home Larry! Welcome home!
TUCKER
Adopted June 15, 2023
An AALOC volunteer rescued Tucker from the San Diego Humane Society. A caring woman had found Tucker cold and starving in the rain, took him home and then nursed him back to health. Unfortunately, the woman’s landlord threatened her with eviction before she could find Tucker a rescue. So, she was forced to take Tucker to a shelter.
Sometimes volunteers fall in love. We believe it was because Tucker has such amazing and soulful eyes. But after saving Tucker from a life-threatening medical emergency this volunteer decided Tucker needed a home ASAP and adopted him. We couldn't be happier these two lovebirds found each other. And neither could Tucker!
