BLUE
Adopted July 24, 2022
Blue (now renamed Olga), a female boxer/pit bull mix puppy, was loved by her previous owner with all his heart. But he was not allowed to keep Blue. So Blue’s previous owner slept on the street with her and then brought her the next morning to AALOC. We were very fortunate to find a foster family for Blue. And that’s where this love story begins.
Olga’s new pet parents had lost one of their dogs in April and they knew another dog would come their way. It only took two weeks to realize that Olga was the perfect fit in their family. Olga now has a permanent new home with two individuals that love her to the moon and back, and a sibling canine to keep her company and show her how to grow into a well-behaved (but maybe a little spoiled) adult dog. What a amazing happy ending for Olga!
JILL
Adopted July 13, 2022
Jill was found by a Good Samaritan. When she arrived at AALOC she was lethargic and cold with an undetectable blood sugar level. We really didn’t think she would make it. We are so grateful to the Animal Hospital of Huntington Beach and the donors who contributed to her care for saving little Jill.
A volunteer agreed to foster this tiny kitten and with this special care the almost lifeless kitten morphed into a rebel rousing, feisty, adorable, and playful handful. And as it sometimes happens, the foster fell in love and recently made it an official love match by formally adopting Jill. We love happy endings. Thanks for saving and loving this little mackerel tabby!
SADIE & NOAH
Adopted July 12, 2022
An AALOC team member took Sadie and Noah home five years ago to foster them when she worked at our Humane Center. She left the organization a while back but Sadie and Noah stayed with her. Recently she adopted both and now Sadie and Noah have a forever home.
HEIDI
Adopted April 10, 2022
Heidi didn’t understand what had happened. Her very loving owners vanished one day and she was at AALOC. Here’s her story: because of health issues her former owners needed to make a sudden move to an assisted living facility and they reached out to AALOC, an organization from which they had adopted Heidi and other pets, and generously supported through their donations, to take Heidi. We promised them we would find Heidi a great new home.
We are very, very happy to say we were able to deliver on our promise and then some! Her new pet mom is Shirley who loves Heidi with all her heart. Shirley had recently lost her husband and then shortly after that she lost her beloved cat. Heidi has been a real blessing to Shirley and Shirley a godsend to Heidi. We know together they can both begin to heal their broken hearts. Thank you Shirley for loving and caring for sweet Heidi.
