TAZ
Adopted March 27, 2021
Taz, a sweet little male, mackerel tabby kitten, was abandoned one day at AALOC. We don’t know the circumstances behind this event but he sure did not deserve to be left there. He is a darling little kitty that needed a forever home and someone to love him.
Not anymore! New dad Jason and big brother mackerel tabby Patrick welcomed Taz to their home today. Jason has a true heart for animals and used to volunteer as a dog walker and cat cuddler in Northern California. With those credentials you know Jason will take great care of Taz and love him to the moon and back.
Thank you Jason and Patrick for adopting Taz!
CHARLIE
Adopted March 26, 2021
Charlie’s owner took care of her grandmother until she passed last year and then circumstances forced her to give Charlie up after 10 years together, but she was always watching from afar, checking the AALOC website to see if Charlie had been adopted. She never gave up and found a home where she hoped to bring her beloved dog.
Yesterday, Charlie and Carolina were reunited after a painful year apart. Love never quits.
ICHI
Adopted March 9, 2021
Ichi’s story begins with two broken hearts.
Ichi, an adult female Sheba Inu, had lived her entire life with a single owner who loved her very much. But because of a major surgery and financial considerations, Ichi’s owner needed to find her a new forever home and contacted AALOC for help in placing Ichi with just the right new owner.
Jeff owned and loved a Sheba Inu with his whole heart but had lost his dog about a year ago to old age. The Sheba Inu breed rarely shows up in shelters or rescues so even though Jeff looked and looked he could not find another Sheba to adopt. It was kismet that a friend spotted the Facebook post about Ichi and connected Jeff to AALOC. Jeff jumped at the chance of adopting Ichi and soon thereafter Ichi came to live with Jeff.
It’s never easy to give up your beloved pet but knowing Ichi will be loved and cared for the rest of her life makes the pain just a bit more bearable.
Thank you Jeff for waiting for Ichi to become your new soul mate.
BLU
Adopted February 28, 2021
Sara had just moved to Orange County from out-of-state and was looking for a puppy to love when she came across a Facebook post for husky puppies and chose an adorable black and white male with blue eyes. She met the “breeder” in a strip mall parking lot in San Diego and payed $500 in cash. Within 48 hours, this puppy was lethargic, pale, vomiting and had diarrhea.
Sara had already spent hundreds of dollars at a local vet and with her earnings as a daycare worker and with student loan debts, she had no ability to pay thousands of dollars to have her critically ill puppy hospitalized. So she surrendered her new puppy she had named Blu to AALOC so he could receive the care he needed.
This very, very sad story actually has a wonderful ending: AALOC allowed Sara to adopt Blu back once he was healed.
Sara gave Blu up so he could live. We gave Blu back so he can be loved.
Because of the financial support AALOC receives from our contributors, and the excellent care provided by the veterinarians at VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists Blu lived and will have a forever home with Sara, the best dog mom ever. Sara and Blu we wish you many Happy Tails together!
