MOE
Adopted August 20, 2020
Moe was wandering on Jackson Street in front of AALOC. A volunteer saw him narrowly miss getting run over by a car rushing down the street. Of course he was immediately taken into the kennel to keep him safe. Moe had no tags and was not micro-chipped and although outreach to find his previous owner was made, no one claimed this darling little dog.
Moe lived at AALOC for a bit, but now he has found his forever home with new pet parents Maria and Mark. Maria and Mark visited Moe several times before the adoption was final and we’re told it was more and more difficult for Maria to leave him at the kennel. The look of joy on Maria and Mark’s face when Moe stepped through their front door just lit up the room and made the volunteers smile knowing Moe would have a good life with his new family. Photos speak volumes – look at the ones featured above and we know you’ll agree.
Sometimes it takes a little longer to find the right home for each of the dogs, cats and rabbits at AALOC. We are so glad we finally connected with Maria and Mark for Moe!
HUGO PANCHITO
Adopted August 8, 2020
We thought we had seen the smallest dog ever but Hugo Panchito beats them all! Barely five pounds, Hugo is the tiniest Chihuahua we have ever cared for. Hugo was previously owned by a family with two little girls who adored him. The family needed to move and unfortunately Hugo could not move with them. It was so sad – the girls cried uncontrollably when they had to leave Hugo at the kennel. We promised the girls we would take great care of Hugo and find him another good home. We are so fortunate to have found Wendy because we know Hugo will now have the forever home he so deserves and one that is a perfect fit for this tiny pooch.
Wendy has another small dog named Angel who is equally sweet as can be, and just about the same age. When Hugo and Angel met you could tell there was instant chemistry - both had the tip of their tongues sticking out while they looked at each other for the first time. We know Wendy will provide a safe and loving home and that Hugo will be a spoiled and pampered little boy with Angel as a new playmate. Thank you Wendy for taking Hugo home!
BUDDY
Adopted July 14, 2020
One rainy day Buddy must have wandered away from his previous owner. Scared and soaking wet he knew to find a caring individual for help. Buddy saw an open door at the business down the street from AALOC and found a sweet lady who cared enough to scoop him up and bring him to our shelter. Unfortunately exhaustive efforts to find his previous owner produced no results.
The little lost dog that enjoys belly rubs, being held, and sleeping under a warm blanket has found his new forever home with Stacy and Eugene. We know this kind and compassionate couple will take great care of Buddy and in return we know Buddy will be their best friend.
The entire AALOC team - volunteers and staff alike - always celebrates when one of the animals in our care gets adopted and we are so happy Buddy now has Stacy and Eugene. We will miss him for sure but Stacy promises to send regular updates like this one: "Buddy has already been on a walk, had a Greenie and is sleeping in his bed with a blanket while I work on the computer." Sounds like Buddy couldn't be more content!
Here's an even more recent update from Stacy that brought a smile: "Buddy likes the cat head bed. Plus, Binchotan and Buddy are doing really well together. Buddy got a whole bunch of toys to play and cuddle with. He has been getting two walks and some sunbathing time. He has an outdoor pad but sometimes prefers the flower bed instead" ????
OZZIE
Adopted July 14, 2020
Ozzie, the world's most interesting dog, would have surely died on the street after being hit by a car if not for the caring individual who heard his howls of pain and stopped to pick him up. His tail was so badly damaged it had to be amputated but that didn't stop Ozzie from finding a wonderful new owner. The fit couldn't be more perfect: Tricia is a young adult who can give Ozzie the exercise and attention he needs, and Susan and Guy, Tricia's parents, will be able to shower him with additional love. Extra bonus: Ozzie now has a home with a huge back yard to romp, roam and explore.
Thank you so much Tricia, Susan and Guy for giving Ozzie the chance he needed. We know he will be a great addition to your family!
